Okay so I'm really on the fence about this whole transmission service thing and I need some honest opinions from people who actually know what they're talking about. I've got a 2016 A6 2.0 TDI that's done about 120,000 kms and it drives absolutely fine, no jerking, no slipping, no weird noises, nothing at all that would make me think something is wrong. The dealer told me at my last service that I should consider changing the gearbox oil but they quoted me nearly 3000 AED which just seems absolutely ridiculous for what is essentially just an oil change. I've been reading online and there's so much conflicting information, half the people say you should change it every 60,000 kms and the other half say if it's not broken don't touch it because new fluid can actually cause leaks or make things worse. I live near MBZ City so I've been looking for a Reliable ATF oil change service near MBZ City that might be more reasonably priced than the dealership, but I'm also worried that taking it to a cheaper place might cause more harm than good if they don't know the specific procedure for these gearboxes. I've seen a few places around that area but I'm always nervous about trusting a car like this to a garage that mostly works on Japanese cars or older American stuff because the Audi systems are so complex. Has anyone here actually had a transmission oil change done on a similar mileage car and noticed any difference, or did you just end up wasting your money? I really don't want to be the guy who ignores the maintenance and ends up with a 15k AED repair bill, but I also don't want to throw away 3000 AED for nothing if it's genuinely not needed on these newer cars.
