I'm sitting here looking at another repair bill for my 2018 S-Class and honestly I'm starting to wonder if I made a huge mistake buying a car with air suspension. This is the third time in just over a year that something's gone wrong with the system, first it was a leaky air strut on the front, then a faulty compressor relay, and now I've got a warning light that's come on for what looks like a height sensor issue on the rear. I absolutely love the car when it's working properly, the ride is like floating on a cloud and it's one of the reasons I bought it in the first place, but the constant niggles and the eye-watering costs are really starting to get to me. I keep asking myself is air suspension worth it in Dubai because the heat and the rubbish roads here just seem to eat these systems alive, and I'm not sure the occasional luxurious ride justifies the ongoing headache and expense. I'd be really interested to hear from other owners who've been dealing with this long term, have you found it gets better after the initial failures or does it just keep getting worse as the car ages? I'm genuinely at the point where I'm thinking of switching to a car with conventional springs next time around, even if it means sacrificing some of that plushness, because the stress of waiting for the next failure is just getting too much. Would love to hear your thoughts if you've been through something similar.
